This is the way I start my Model A Ford

DIRECTIONS IN STARTING A FORD MODEL A

Car in Neutral, clutch pushed in to floor

Gas valve under dash should already be in up and down positon for gas to flow to carburetor

Spark up(left lever)

Throttle down 3 or 4 notches(right lever)

*CAUTION-CAREFULLY FIND SEAT OF GAS ADJUST NEEDLE BY TUNING KNOW CLOCKWISE(DO NOT TURN KNOB IN A HARD MANNER OR YOU MIGHT DAMAGE THE NEEDLE SEAT!)

Gas knob(on passenger side) 1 ½ to 1 turn(s) open for cold start(counterclockwise rotation from seat)

Ignition switch on

Push starter button on floor while pulling/pushing choke(gas knob) quickly!

Upon start, immediately bring spark to level position(left lever)

Lean gas knob clockwise to 1/2 turn open, eventually turn to 1/4 open (this is the correct position for normal operation)

Adjust throttle(right lever) up to slow engine acordingly for driving

IF ENGINE IS HOT OR WARM

Put car in neutral and push clutch to floor

Turn on ignition

Leave spark lever in the level position

Throttle lever to 1 to 3 notches

LEAVE GAS MIXTURE ALONE AND DO NOT CHOKE! DON'T FLOOD IT!

Adjust throttle to slow engine

Be sure gas knob is still at 1/4 turn open

AAAAHHHHHHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOGGGGAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
