Quite true that Ford never used that term, but as far as I have seen, neither did they call the 1934 4-cyl. a Model B, either. It is quite different than the 1932 engine in a number of ways. 1933 is very cloudy on terminology and 4-cyl. engine equipment. Supposedly, only the counterbalanced engines used the C marked head, which was introduced either during the 1933 Model year or with the introduction of the 1934. However, I recently had a conversation with an "old timer" that has restored many B Models. He says that *none* of the passenger car engines (including those with the C head) had counterbalanced cranks. He says those were only used in the BB truck. Halowe |
