: Pulled my rear drums to check a recent brake rebuild to find that one of my rear axle seals is bad and the brake shoes, etc are covered with 600w.

: I fixed the axle seals, and now need to put things back together. Does anyone know of a proven way to degrease my nearly new woven brake linings ?

: Thanks for any advise, Benny.

I work in a shop...and teach brake repair...have tried just about everything...thinners..solvents...heating them with a torch to make the grease come to the top...etc...
but the grease is inside the shoes...and after a few hundred miles will always come to the surface...it always kills me..but just replace the shoes...nothing else seems to work...
