My father just left me my grandfathers '29 phaeton, good luck with yours. As another neophyte, I can tell you the following, see if the "oldtimers" agree. Lever on left is spark advance, up for starting, low rpm and lugging, move down after starting and as rpms increase. Lever on right is throttle. Henry's cruise control. Carb adjustment, mine doesn't seem to work properly, but GENTLY screw in to bottom, then back off about a 1/2 turn to start, then screw in as the car warms up----or so it's been told to me. Seems to be some slightly differnet opinions on this, but maybe thats due to individual carbs ideosyncracies (sp?). Good luck with your "new" car

: My dad recently died and left me his '29 Model A.While I helped him do some general maintenance on the car, I didn't learn all of the fine points of operating it.I have put in a new battery and started the car but I am confused by the two levers on the steering column and the carb adjustment under the dash on the passenger side.

: Dad loved this car and I plan to keep it .Any advice on how to properly operate the car would be greatly appreciated.

: Thanks,

: Sid
