Thou shalt NOT fill thy 7 tooth steering box with grease!!!!!
The grease fitting is a breather, as far as I know.If you have a fitting on the sector shaft housing part of the casting, you may put grease into the bushing area ONLY.There are various little seal set-ups the guys use to stop the leak at the bottom. The very replacement of the orig. bushing which had an oil groove cut into it (to help it leak, I presume) helps a lot.Mark Auto makes such a kit.I think that Henry knew that they leaked there and really didn't care.Is the 30-1 box a better box?Oh yeah. But to have the best of both worlds, find a late 1929 box that already has the "late" guts but fits into the early car just right.
