: Looking for inputs on what works and what doesn't work when using a 6:1 head on a standard B block.I am looking into both cast iron and aluminum heads and both the B and A head gaskets. May go with a standard B head but want to know if the higher compression heads are dependable.Appreciate any inputs.

I just inherited my grandfathers 1929 A phaeton, he restored it in about 1965, with a B engine and "B" head, the "B" head apparently being the high-comp. A head. +-30 years later this car still runs great. I'm a neophyte when it comes to driving this car, but I have been doing what the other gentleman suggested...saving full advance for higher speed, low load driving.
