G'Day Al,
My very own unbiased personal opinion is that grease is a no-no in a steering box as it tends to get pushed to one side during operation & won't flow back to do what it's supposed to do, & that's lubricate parts which rub together. (would you use it in your transmission to stop it leaking?) I'd rather try & eliminate the bit of seepage than use grease. Look a little further down this board for a posting by carla on a S/W steering box run with grease.

: The latest Restorer has two articles on the use of grease in the steering box. The Tech Editor says no way. Another person describes a Ford grease made especially for steering boxes and has used it for 30 years in A's. Has anyone given it a try? For the club driver with limited yearly mileage, is this perhaps the solution to leaky gear boxes?
