Hi Jim..
Might be a small, humorous point, but remember the valve is installed kind of "up side down" which means that you should be pulling the wrench towards you if you're right handed.
This aslo assumes that you will start the pulling action from about the one or two o'clock position.
Let us know how you finally remove it.
