Initially the filler screen was threaded and screwed into place.With the intro of the '30 models it was redesigned with two tabs and requires less than 1/4 turn to remove.This type is more difficult to remove when tight (without an appropriate tool) but rattles when loose.Due to breakage Ford returned to the threaded type sometime in 1930.When these are clean they can generally be removed with three fingers in the screen.
