I forgot to mention that easy paint chipping is usually the fault of the primer/prep work.The old lacquer primers are talc based and very susceptible to separating.The thicker the primer the easier to chip.A layer of enamel over freshly blasted metal would adhere much better than over lacquer primer.The problem would be getting it on without it running off!!!Modern two-part products are considerably better when used correctly. |
