: Hi Gordon, : There never seems to be a finale with a Model 'A'. : Two things come to mind from what you did or didn't do during rebuild. : Is there a good ground between your starter and the bell housing? Sometimes paint will act as an insulator and the bolts and/or lock washers will not cut into the paint to form a good ground. Continuity test from a head bolt to a clean spot on the starter casing should tell. : When the armature was turned, were the spaces between the copper undercut? : Let us know what you find. : Dave.
Hi, Dave Did not check ground to the bell housing.A useful element to remember in the future. We have an antique machine for turning commutators. It also has a tool attached for undercutting the mica grooves once the surface has been turned. Peace, Gordon |
