I HELPED A FRIEND BUILD A TRUCK WITH A TITLE . the first thing was to have a police officer run the serial numbersto9 see if it was stollen or regestered. Rember the enginemay not be the origanl thusly may not match the car serialnumberswhich should be stamped on top of the frame on the drivers side locatedusly underwhere the cowlbolts to the frame . Sometimes they are stamped on the front of the gas tank above the seam on the drivers side . TryTitles at 716-342-5769 Hope this a help
: Good question. I recently was giveing a model A from my father in law. His pride and joy. When I asked about a title to prove ownership, he said he never had one. I called the secretary of state(I live in Michigan) and they said if I could prove proof of ownership through a letter from the gifter they could do a "search" and issue me a title. I assume that means running it through the DMV to see if there are any missing A's out there with my serial number. I hate dealing with these people as there kind of a pain in the butt! I didnt ask, but I am sure one way or another they will try to get some tax dollars out of me. Anyway I too would be interested in knowing if I can get a "older" title issued. Hope that helped some.

: Larry
