engine popping

the engine in my "A" is popping in between shifts.the car runs good at idle. it pulls good through the gears. it just pops in between gears. it wiil do it at idle too. if you rev the engine up it pops after you let off the gas.. the engine has been completely rebuilt. the carb is rebuilt,the dist has been rebuilt.Anyone have any ideas ????
