:g'day to you, d. j.,

good job on that reply!!

i was wondering whether there might be a possibility that some replacement timing gears might be out of tolerance in the keyseat-orientation, relative to the alignment and timing marks.

wouldn't it be relatively simple to make up a degree-wheel which would fit over the front pulley, and hasn't someone, somewhere already done this?

as you know, on many types of engines one sets up the camshaft-timing by reading the amount of rotation between tdc and the peak opening of a specific valve, usually by marks on the flywheel.

so--considering the amount of work done on fords over the years, hasn't someone already developed this practise for the ford "A"'s?---as you know, this was commonly done when setting up the high-lift replacement camshafts for the 59A and 8BA engines.

also---i'm just curious---i think i remember reading somewhere that you call your "A""the choorey"

would it be alright for me to ask what a "choorey" is?

all the best,

carla
