: Recently, I purchased a new type neoprene seal for the rear main on the Model A engines. It is marketed by a couple from California and was purchased thru Bratton's.This seal involves machining the slinger ring off the crankshaft.Since I have a few engines under construction, I thought I would give it a try.Has anyone out there tried one of these seals? Ifso, what were the results?Plese let me know and let's post it on the board. : Thanks, Hi John.. I installed the two piece Neoprene rear main seal on my machined crank (one of the slingers was turned down and polished) some years ago, without a hint of a leak since. Just be careful when assembling it and use some white assembly grease that comes in a tube and is available at most auto parts stores. Larry Jenkins |
