: I know a model A will tend to seek it's own water level, but is a full quart low normal after just a few miles?I have not had it on the road enough yet to know if it will go lower, still trouble shooting a few running problems.Any new advice on dieing when stopping, have checke all the obvious for carb & gasket leaks along with float level.Maybe I'm missing something on the carb. adjustments.
: Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have just had a similar problem with losing water after only driving a few miles. The source of my problem was a clogged radiator. The water pump was moving water into the radiator, but because of the clogged tubes water could not flow through the radiator quickly enough. The result was that the water level rose into the filler neck and water was lost through the overflow tube.If you don't have any obvious leaks in your cooling system this could be your problem.I just had my radiator boiled out and rodded and according to the radiator shop it was pretty badly stopped up.By the way, my car never boiled over. However, I did have some hot spots in the engine and sustained damage to the rings.I hope this helps.
