: How long should a 6 V battery last?I replaced mine about
: 2 years ago with a new Delco battery and it's beginning
: to not hold its charge.(I must admit that I haven't been
: driving the car much lately, but I've been recharging the
: battery every month or so).

: I've also noticed on the posting board that some folks have
: found inexpensive 6 V batteries at Walmart or PepBoys, but neither store has them in stock. Are they a special order?
: I'm told that they are made by Exide.

: Thanks, again, for all the help.

hi, anthony,

this is one or those "awww--everybody knows that" items, but i'll mention it anyway, if that's alright----i've always heard the old timers say "never use any but distilled water to top up the cells in a battery"----the reasoning being that the water in many areas, tho adequately pure to be safe for human consumption, may contain trace minerals which will degrade the electrolyte, over a period of time.
