The fellow I work with has a '30 tudor with the paper air maze replacement installed and sealed properly to the carbureter. It didn't seem to make any performance or carb adjustment difference, but he also doesn't put many miles on.

The "B" did have a screen filter which was quite a bit larger than the "A" air maze. The "B" which won't fit the "A" carb horn which is smaller in diameter. than the "B".

I'm planning to use an extension tube to bring the intake up above the motor, and then use a larger "Hot rod" style round filter for the same reasons you mention.

I'm also set up for full-flow oil filtration which is just as important unless you really enjoy changing oil at 300 miles.
