: : Digging through a box of parts, I found a carburator that is shaped almost exactly like a cast Zenith, similar adjusters, drains, plugs, etc., but it is aluminum.Anybody know if there was an aluminum Zenith made?

: : The only idetification I can find on it is the number 2350 near the air intake, and part of a sticker that appears to say someting about Atlas Automotive Safety Tests with Approved accross the center. Also has a map of the continental US in the center.

: : Carb appears to have been painted silver.

: : Any ideas?

: : Thanks.

: Hi Gary..

: I've never seen an aluminum Zenith carburetor, but that doesn't mean they don't exist. There are two distinct ways to determine if it's a Tillotson.

: The Zenith top and bottom sections are held together with one bolt, inserted from the bottom. The Tillotson top and bottom sections are held together with three slotted bolts, inserted from the top.

: The bowl end of the Tillotson is more "square" than the Zenith.

: Maybe Les Andrews from the MAFCA page knows more..

Larry and Scott,

Thanks for the suggestions, but I have a Tillotson on my '30 Tudoor plus about 5 others right now, and this is definately not one.The whole carburator is shaped almost exactly like a Zenith. The bowl is round (or would you call it oval?) just like a Zenith.

Any other ideas?

Thanks again.
Gary
