I believe what your noticing is the "splash" of the oiling system. The non pressurized oiling system of the A relies on the movement of the pistons to reach down and splash oil into the areas that modern engines are lubed by pressurized oil flow.

When I first got my car, it would "spit" oil out of the dipstick hole. That problem was cured when I figured out that not only was the dipstick not fully inserted into the hole (it should go all the way to the loop on the end) but the previous owner had grossly overfilled the engine. When I changed the oil, I got about 9 quarts of oil out. After I put the correct5 quarts in and inserted the dipstick properly, my oily problem went away.

Enough of my problems, if oil is coming out your filler tube, I would suggest that you check to see if the baffles are intact.Just to make sure that what's in the engine stays in the engine, I plug the hole with a piece of plastic scrubber that I purchased at the hardware store. Some people recommend a brass scrubber pad but I envision stray brass strands getting loose inside my engine and opted for the one piece plastic pad.It won't come apart but is porous enough to let the engine "breathe".

On the dark side, your engine may be worn enough to allow "blow-by" to cause the problem. If this is the case your looking at a more challenging task.Check your compression.
