Teflon Spring Rehab

Posted by MRR on May 19, 1998 at 11:30:44

I'm rehabing a rear spring for my A.I've got it all apart, sandblasted, primed, edges ground round and gouges smoothed (ala previous discussions here and in literature) and am ready to reassemble.

I've read previous discussions here about said spring rehabs most of which migrate to lubricating the leaves with grease with graphite. Some people make reference to teflon lubrication. Before we repeat the grease disertations, I need to hear from somebody who has done the teflon thing. What kind of teflon tape would one use?I don't find a product in the catalogs that seems to be on point. How do you apply it to the leaves? How does it work as compared to grease? and how long will it work? What else can you tell me pro and con?
