What I've used is a Bernz-O-Matic with the large soldering tip attachment which packs plenty of "wattage" but isn't a direct flame.The idea is to use a large enough heat source to get in and our fast since sitting there "Cooking" the windings is not a good idea.pre-tinning is a must.
