Tom, I have a book of original colours for the A with chips. It was produced by Ditzler Automotive Finishes PPG Industries and covers Ford vehicles between 28 and 36. The colour you are looking for is listed as "Andalusite Blue #121 and wa s used on vehicles between 28 and 30. Colurs are hard to describe but I would say it was a very deep blue almost bordering on black. If it helps the formula for one quart is as follows: DAL( Lacquer (Nitrocellulose) Colour) 46=24----17=60----48=244----49=1074
It also shows a similar formula for the same colour in Acrylic Laquer and if that would be of help, please ask.
That little lot means absolutely nothing to me but if you get in touch with Ditzler or DuPont and find out I would be interested to know.
I'm sure others may have this book which dates back to the early 60's but if not and anyone would like any information from it, I would be happy to pass it along on this page.
