Bob,

I have a set of FireStone's on my 30 coupe and can't image how someone would think there too wide. consider that many folks use 18,17 and 16 inch wheels and those tires are much wider than stock 19 inch rims could handle.

However, I do agree with those who said they wear fast, because I've noticed a good deal of wear on mine. I have been told that Goodyear's give a better ride, but no opions on tire mileage.

I would think that the general rule of modern car and motorcycle tires still holds true. Softer better riding tires wear faster than harder longer lasting ones. Of course there are exceptions to every rule, but I don't think the tire companies are putting any more money into 19 inch tire R&D these days.

That begs another question, has anyone done a tire comparsion?

: Some folks I have talked to think Firestone tires wear faster than other brands. I know that the Firestone tires are too wide to fit into stock fender wells and standard size tire covers.
: I have not been able to get any opinions about the new Goodyear tires other than they are $95 each. Are there any other recommendations?
