: I thought this would have been asked before, so I spent an hour searching through all previous posts and archives, so I'll ask here.

: I just got my new W16Y champion spark plugs.Brattons suggest that the gap be set at .035, but the box that the plugs came in suggest .025.I have looked in the "Model A Shop Manual" and it didn't mention anything about spark gap.I have an old ford restoration manual Circa 1950's and it said spark gap is .025.

Thats strange just yesterday I also change the same spark plugs and notice the .25 gap recomend. I was haveing a problem with misfiring, could not get carburator to stop the misfiring, after changing plugs only it stoped emmedatly. But I also notice the old plugs were very sooty, so I still think the carburator may be the problem, will wait for about fifty miles and chech the new plugs. I did set them at .25. Hope this helps some..
: I've tryed it both ways. Each time the car started and seemed to run fine, but with the gap at .035 it got a slightly higher top speed or at least I thought it did.

: So what do you experts gap your plugs at?
