: I've read several articles on installing tires after painting the wheels using everything from plastic bags, talc, dishwashing soap and was going to go that route when I was talking to my paint supplier and was told to put the tires on before painting to stop damage to the paint. I thougt I would post this messege for some feed back from anyone with first hand experience, I'm capable but want to minimize any mistakes!
Boy I like the idea of powder coating like Robert did..but I checked with a local powder coater and he wanted $40 a wheel..so I am painting em...I used to use rubber tire liners..but last time I dident have any so I used duct tape..and it seems to work better than the liner...I use talcum powder inside the tire and mount by hand...it is so easy that even though I have a new state-of-the-art Coates Tire machine...I don't use it...just place the tire on a piece of carpet and I mount from the top...although either way it is very easy..the Charles Atlas method..
