I just had the wheels powder coated on my '28 roadster (21 inch wheels). I mounted all 5 new Firestones with the wheel on the rear and the emergency brake set so it wouldn't turn. I sprinkled a little talc on the beads and followed the procedure in the owners manual (pushing the tire into the drop center rim). I couldn't believe how easy the job went and no tools were required. Might add that even if tools were used gently, I don't think they would scratch powder coated wheels.
The shop charged me $25.00 per wheel which included sand blasting and I feel this would be a bargain at twice the price. They really look good.
