: I've read several articles on installing tires after painting the wheels using everything from plastic bags, talc, dishwashing soap and was going to go that route when I was talking to my paint supplier and was told to put the tires on before painting to stop damage to the paint. I thougt I would post this messege for some feed back from anyone with first hand experience, I'm capable but want to minimize any mistakes!

Bob,
I agree with Marco and Jack.I was like you..did not really know a good way to do it.I tried some suggestions from others, skeptical to be sure. Finally tried the suggestions. The dishwashing soap worked but was a little messy.Went to the garbage bag method...worked prefectly...just like they said.Worked on a work bench, wheel laying with the back side down, tire on from top. With a good strong hands it can be done with out stepping on it.Either way you choose, hands or feet, the garbage bag method works very well.By all means, paint the wheels first.
Have fun!
Paul
