: The gas gauge on My 1930 Town sedan shows gasoline through the glasswhen the tank if filled up.I don't recall gasoline having been visble here previously. There is no bovious leaks into the interior of the car.Can any one advise if this is abnormal which i believe that it is and should replacing gaskets remedy the problem.

: Many thanks in advance

Seeing gasoline splash around in the guage window is normal
when it is filled up. The major concern is that there is not leakage out of the guage into the instrument panel area. If this is the case you will need to replace the gaskets. There is a special set of tools for taking the guage apart. Most of the parts dealers carry them.
