Ken, The four contact light switch is the first generation, but was used until March 1929. It was used un all models with the early Ford "H" type single bulb headlamps. The corresponding lighting switch plate on the wiring harness had four sets of contacts instead of three.

Both the switch assembly and corresponding plate are becoming difficult to find. If you are going to change over to the later three position switch and new off-the-shelf harness (the easy way), please pass the old switch onto someone (stubborn) that can use it.
