Ford was making the transition to them in 1930 and recommended them for the taxi and other cars where better breaking was required. For the new cast iron drums I have no real experience but wouldn't expect much difference.

Marco,You mention "semi-molded type brake shoes",I've seen the modern replacement HARD linings which don't work well.I've always used the soft Scandinavia Type linings when they've been available.

I'm not familiar with the semi molded linings..... What are they?Can you tell me a little more about this, or tell me where I can find out?Thanks
