: Hello,

: For the sake of curiousity, I would like to see how many "younger" people (teens through twenties) are getting into the Model "A" Hobby.

: It would be nice to have some sort of correspondence among the future of the hobby. The national clubs are trying to spark "youth drives" to get the next generation of "A" bugs involved.Perhaps we can communicate and begin new friendships over the internet, or even arrange to meet each other at national conventions or big shows.

: Established members should make it a point to ENCOURAGE new interest in the Model "A" hobby.Promotion of the hobby is essential for the maintenance of the hobby's health. We need to have renewed membership in order to maintain our common goal:The preservation of the Model "A" so it can entertain future generations as it has entertained present and past generations.

: Next generation, identify yourself!

: Thanks!

I to am of the younger generation as I started selling Model A parts at the age of 24 though I am now 30. I have owned a couple of un finished As in the last 7 years. I will possibly be buying another A to drive this spring.
I do have probably 20 to 30 customers in the under 30 age group. Some of the older generation don't encourage them as they feel they are only interested in street rods. This is definetly incorrect as they enjoy the originals.
I have even had customers at shows tell me that I should not be selling A parts as I am not old enough. These people do not understand that is up to the younger generation to keep this great hobby going. I hope that these postings help make them think of the future of the original cars and help promote the hobby when a teenager shows an interest in their car.
