Good news and bad news; the light switch when properly installed into the base of the steering column goes in only one way!If it fits, it's installed correctly.

The bad news is that if the previous owner didn't run the wires to the correct places, things won't work as expected.

If you're going to work on your car yourself, I highly recommend you purchase "Model A Ford Mechanics Handbook" by Les Andrews. It's well written and easy to follow, even for a weekend mechanic. On page 1-366 and 1-367, he explains how the main wire loom works and has the whole Model A wiring diagram listed; it's not too hard to follow.

There are other books that have this same information, but I've found Les' approach to maintaining the Model A to be easy to do - there are lots of pictures and drawings.

The Handbook is available from your local Model A reseller, or you can write to Les at: Cottage Hill Publishing, 22126 Cottage Hill Drive, Grass Valley, CA 95949.Cost is about $29.
: We have high and low beam - I've managed to get that working, but the tail light refuses to switch off !
: What position does the switch on the steering wheel have to be in - when you're re-assembling the switch housing at the base of the steering column?
: Any help would be Greatly Appreciated.!!!
