That's a very good point often overlooked. If you don't drive your 'A' much, you probably don't have much to loose except minor deterioration of door and hood fit. However, removing the "fourth crossmember" will definitely increase the flexibility of the frame and increase stress on many areas of the car.

I would guess that is would also add a few unwanted sqeaks and creaks in the body and fenders!
