Valve chamber cover repair?

Hi Folks,
I found hairline fractures in the valve chamber cover at the oil overflow holes where the oil return pipe bolts on. Probably the result of overtightening the bolt. There's also a hairline fracture where the return pipe meets the half-round end piece that gets the bolt at the same end. At least one of these cracks is leaking oil. So, somewhat embarrassed, I must conclude that I overtightened it. Can these cracks be fixed by a competent welder?
