Dave,
Lay your wheel flat on a piece of cardboard to protect it from the floor.Then lay a large (33 gal) trash bag flat over the rim and work the tire over the wheel rim.It won't take much really.The two layers of plastic work as a good lubricant against each other.After you get the tire on the rim, pull the trash bag out and then work your tube into the tire, lining up the stem etc.Or you can place the tube in the tire first then work the tire over the rim & bag.
