Tony,
The white gasket does go in the front and should be soaked in oil for a few days prior to installation. Put in into the pan and you can use a large socket to seat it in place.
The long cork gasket goes in the rear and will have to be cut. Be careful not to cut to much from the gasket though.
I tie the side gaskets in place with some fine thread through several of the bolt holes. The thread holds the gaskets in place while you put the pan onto the block. After you have all the bolts in place, but not tight, you can cut the thread away.
