Well -

If the unit has two cylindrical units with electrical connections on them screwed in the side of the housing - one in the driver's side front front and one on the passenger's side toward the back, AND a lever on the driver's side configured for a pull cable, then it's a converted Borg-Warner, probably from an early '50s Studebaker or Rambler.There are folks that advertise in the Model "A" mags that service these units (see Bill Swigart 916-221-1628).If it's a rectangular unit, alloy housing with no electrical connections, but with a shift linkage, it's probably a Mitchell (800) 238-5038. If it doesn't look like any of the above, then your guess is as good as mine.
