I checked my '30 Murray Town Sedan and sure enough, there are two screws with nuts that serve no obvious purpose.Only on mine they're 3 1/2" apart, one above the other, above the steering column.On the passenger side there are two smaller ones, again with no obvious purpose, but horizontal this time.
My sedan had at least one frame-off restoration sometime in the last 68 years, and is complete at this time.So I guess your extra screws served no vital purpose.Because they're in a different location from mine I'd hazzard a guess that Henry didn't intend them to be there.
