: Boy, you hit the wrong key, and POW your message is sent! : Anyway, this is a point of variance, but what I understand is that typically the bumperetts were dipped in black paint to cover the riveted plate area. I suppose it depended on the shift workers, work pace, paint supplies, etc.!!This would mean the that whole end would be black, and the black would end in a straight line that might not be perpendicular to the edge of the bumper! : Of course the really early bumperettes were one piece, if you want to get into real 'odball' stuff!! (this was held over longer in Canadian production too) : --David D. Thanks David,That makes sense, since I cant imagine Ford having someone sit there painting the rivets with a tiny brush. Now I'm off to paint them, so I can install for the sunday show, and picnic! |
