Hey John,

Congratulations!I'm certainly glad to hear of your success story.I'm glad to help when I can!If the backfiring is through the carb it's probably the result of a slightly lean mixture. At least this is what I've read.If you're revving it up at the curb, this backfiring is probably acceptable as the carb's fuel supply needs to replenish itself. This is a gradual process under normal driving conditions. You might try opening the mixture knob on the dash just a pinch if it's happening under normal driving conditions but first check for an air leak.Spray some light oil (WD40) or equivalent around the intake manifold areas where it could possibly leak. This of course is with the engine running. If the engine stumbles, you have a leak.

It really is a shame though that you didn't find any pickles! It's getting harder and harder to find a good pickle these days!

Best of luck and kepp us up to date.We really are interested!

Regards,

Kevin Daly
