NEED SUGGESTIONS ON REMOVING PINION From 1932 DRIVESHAFT.

I just purchased some 4:11 gears to put in my Model A.The gears came out of a 1932 Ford, but according to the Ford parts book, they are the same as Model A.The pinion is still on the driveshaft which is still inside the banjo housing. The driveshaft housing has been removed. To remove the pinion on a Model A, you unthread the 2 large nuts, slide the nuts off the driveshaft, then slide the driveshaft throught the banjo housing. You can then put the driveshaft in a vise and after removing the castllated nut, use a puller to remove the pinion from the driveshaft. The 1932 driveshaft that I have appears to be the same diameter on both ends as the Model A driveshaft, but in the middle, the diameter is twice as thick. Therefore the 2 nuts cannot slide off the driveshaft, and therefore the driveshaft cannot slide out of the banjo housing. It looks like the pinion has to be removed while it is inside the banjo housing. Here's the problem.I don't have a puller that is able to get a good grip on the pinion. There isn't alot of room inside the banjo to begin with, but the hooks on the puller don't get down far enough to get a good grip on the pinion.Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get the pinion off?I'm wondering if the driveshaft has been altered. Maybe it shouldn't be thicker in the middle.Does anyone know? Also is the banjo and the bearings that the pinion floats on, the same as Model A?Thank you in advance, Neil
