: I talked with Doc Kalinka in WI. a few days ago inquiring about the early rear lamp bracket and he said that the early bed ('til April or May)was 1/2" - 3/4" longer (towards the cab) and that the wood was not interchangable. This doesn't show up in the parts books however, which doesn't make sense. Marco, I measured the two beds that I have, the T(?) and the A.The T bed is 57" long measured along the top rail and the A is 56 1/2" long. The depth and width are the same. The tailgate is the same as the earlier A version (with full length hinge strap and three rivets). The later tailgate has a hinge strap that is shorter at the bottom and may have four rivets. Not to be confused with the wide bed tailgate that doesn't have a Ford script. The sides are not only different in the front stake pocket and the indentation in the "wheel well" but also in the lower side panel. While the A has the offset, first out then down, to straddle the wood rails, the T has a simple flange that only turns out. I guess that the only similarities between the two are the tailgate and the front panel. I let another A bed go sometime ago and didn't investigate the differences in the two A beds. John
