Hi Larry. You have gotten some good pointers on checking the condensers. As another point of possible trouble, if you are using an original "B" distribuitor, check the mechanical advance mechanism in the distribuitor. They were notorious for wearing out and not providing the proper advance curve. Also check to make sure you have a timing gear cover for a "B" as the timing hole is located slightly different from an "A" to provide an additional advance. This means that for the "B", when the timing pin is used to check for top dead center, it isn't really top dead center.

Good Luck!

: I have an engine that runs rough and has little power, so I suspect, among other things, that I may have a bad condensor on my B engine in a 1930 Coupe.

: My question is, can a used condensor be checked with a volt-ohmmeter, and if so how, and what would the readings be for a brand new one compared to the used one if the used one is bad?

: Thanks..
