My Mother, who is in her mid 80's says that in her small Northern Michigan town the two affordable automobiles were the Ford and the Chevrolet. Her dad bought a Chevy, solely on the basis that the salesman promised to teach my Mother how to drive if they bought it. That was why the Model A lost a sale.
