Well a simple fast way that is only 100% accurate to prove a bad(shorted) condenser, is
Use a ohm meter
set it on the lowest setting
put one lead from the meter to the condenser housing
put the other lead form the meter to the lead on the condenser
Oh yea this must be done off of the car.
Also do not touch eather lead or the condenser housing while testing as your body can conduct electricty -- resulting in a bad reading from your meter.

If the readout on your ohm meter goes to 0 (or 0 resentance), then you have a short in the condensor and it is trash...
If the meter reading climbs slowley and holdes at a number not equle to 0 then it is probley good.
But rember that it still could have a short that is small enough to leak out a little juice - resulting in incorect ignition.

Also are you shure it is a condenser problem.
Don't forget to check battery voltageat the battery and at the points.
A week power source or bad wiring will also act like a bad or out of adjusted set of points.
