: Hi Bill, I looked through some of my books and 'did' see an early pickup with the tail light mounted under the bed, not behind the rear fender. The quality of the picture isn't good enough to see the bracket clearly. A similar type of tail light mount is standard for the later wide bed pickups but I don't know if it is the same bracket. This later bracket is available from most of the parts places. I also checked the latest judging standards and didn't find any mention of an early bracket. (This may be something that should be added to the judging standards). As far as the bracket being reversed on the earlier models, I guess that is a possibility but it would put one of the mounting holes out in space and would look weird.
: Another possibility is that Henry was using up some leftover 26-27 Model T brackets on the early pickups.
: Hopefully someone here has access to one of those earlier trucks and can come up with the answer.

HEY, I think you hit it!!The model A pickup bed is just a modified T bed, with no battery hole, so the T taillight bracket is a real possibility. Now I gotta go track down a model T pickup to look at.

By the way, that bracket i have that was added on to with re-bar has only 2 holes, not 3.Guess I will look closer at that tomorrow.
