Good observations right down the line! The original samples I've collected (9 or 10) are wrapped in a special light weight version of the fine long-short grain that was used for the standard open cars, but similar to the medium long-short grain used on the closed cars. The paper core was 7/32" diameter and the cover was attached with adhesive and no stitching. If you use a full 3/16" core with top material for the cover, the outside diameter will be about the same. The grain of the artificial leather runs lengthwise. |
