REAR END

I recently took my '30 rear end apart for inspection and some minor rework (seals, gaskets,etc.).I used Les Andrews book for reference and everything went Ok. One aspect of this assenbly still is a question. In the book, it states that the left axle housing weld should face the front of the car.Mine faces downward. This rear end seems to perform OK and I'm curious about the weld business. Would appreciate some comments of this. Thanks, Michael D
