The wear pattern on the inside from the differential pinions (spider gears) should be a perfect match when reassembled correctly.Assemble the two halves with no other parts and it shouldn't be to difficult to tell by visual inspection (you may need to borrow stronger glasses!) if these three areas mate perfectly.
